A new branch library opened on February 24 to bring much-needed services to residents in an urban neighborhood west of downtown Fresno. The West Fresno Branch Library is one of several county entities housed at the new West Fresno Regional Service Center at California and Walnut Avenues. The new library replaces the former Ivy Branch Library. Services provided at the branch will include children's storytimes, teen programs, computers, DVDs and music CDs. Books and other materials will offer a more diverse selection of Spanish language. Lisa Lindsay will oversee the branch and develop services tailored to the West Fresno community.
