We continue to provide sales of donated books to patrons of the Fig Garden Library whenever the library is open. The success of our sales, which has been remarkable, has actually diminished our inventory, and we want all patrons of Fig Garden or anyone else to know that the library will receive donations at any time. If youâre cleaning out the house, the attic, the cellar, or just want to share your recent book acquisitions with others, please consider dropping off your books at the library. Everyone benefits: patrons and the library.
We continue with our monthly âAuthor Chats.â On May 6, we featured acclaimed novelist and short story writer Steve Yarbrough, Hallowell Professor of Creative Writing at CSUF, discussing his latest work and his thoughts on writing fiction.
On Wed., June 4, at 10 a.m. we will feature Debashis Bandyopadhyay (which may be pronounced âBanerjeeâ), a Ph.D. Fulbright Visiting Scholar at CSUF FIG GARDEN FRIENDS from India, who is a scholar of Fresno author William Saroyan. Appearing with Dr. Bandyopadhyay will be local author John Walke, a friend of our Author Chats, who will read from his latest work concerning Anglo-Indian life and interactions in both India and America.
Fig Garden Library relies on support from its patrons. We at the Friends of the Fig Garden Library rely as well on the support of patrons. Keep us in mind when youâre looking to get rid of those surplus books!
